Top 10 Bing searches for 2010
Announced yesterday, here are the most queried words on Bing.com — the U.S. counterpart to Bing.ca — over the last 11 months. Perhaps not surprisingly, reality TV personalities, sports celebs and Hollywood stars topped the list.

What do Kim Kardashian, Sandra Bullock and Tiger Woods all have in common?
The three celebs — all of whom were no stranger to headlines this year — topped Microsoft’s most popular overall Bing searches for 2010, the Redmond, Wash. company announced on Monday.
Kim, Sandra and Tiger were also the most searched people on the search engine, followed by Lady Gaga and Barack Obama.
Other facts from Microsoft: Kim Kardashian received 20 percent more searches than Bullock (really?); the only person in the Top 10 list to appear on both the 2009 and 2010 “most searched” people was reality TV personality Kate Gosselin (the co-star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was number seven out of 10 this year and number eight in 2009); and Michael Jackson dropped off the Top 10 list (landing at number 11 this year).
The following were the most popular (overall) 2010 searches on Bing.com:
1. Kim Kardashian
2. Sandra Bullock
3. Tiger Woods
4. Lady Gaga
5. Barack Obama
6. Hairstyles
7. Kate Gosselin
8. Walmart
9. Justin Bieber
10. Free

They wouldn’t be my top tens.Hairstyles #6 on Bing?I don’t understand that one at all. Now,free would be at the top of my list.I am not surprized by all the celebrities because we have so much fascination with their world.Could someone please explain that to me.Maybe it’s because they don’t have to shop at Walmart, which is on the list.
I think Bing should consider releasing a Canadian list. I suspect we have a different (and I hope less boring) set of priorities when it comes to searching the web than our U.S. neighbours and I would like Bing to show us these differences.
I must admit I have looked up Tiger Woods this past year.
Wait, what? People use Bing! I’m stunned!
