Facebook has failed in every area except raking in the money. There have been so many privacy problems with these guys. Sooner-or-later they are going to mess up really big, but it will be too late for the poor souls who have their lives destroyed. Maybe the owner of facebook should have waited for the designers to perfect the system before he stole it. Or maybe he should go back and pay them to fix it.

Perhaps surprisingly, I actually support what Ron Bowes did. I use Facebook regularly and I'm really surprised by how inattentive regular Facebook users on my friends list are to their personal security responsibility sometimes. Unwittingly joining scam groups up to five times a day (no matter how many warnings they receive), leaving their profiles completely open, posting reveling or seductive pictures and sharing things they don't actually want everyone to see are just a few of the issues at hand.

It's like if you gave someone a megaphone and told them that they could only speak into the megaphone at all times, and they kept saying all of the same things they would share with a private gathering of close friends.

Hopefully, this will serve as a reminder and a warning to all of us that we need to be more attentive to our security settings before someone with more malicious intentions does something of the same kind.

Its does not matter if the user considers thier information private. 12 year olds are out there trying simple techniques like these: http://www.facebook-hacks.org/?p=71

Will all you nerds go outside and experience daylight please?
All this whining about Facebook security. You know years ago, waaaaaay back, you didn't need your idiot box computer to interact socially with people. You just go outside and see them in person.
You could alleviate all your security concerns if you just took your Star trek obsessed asses outside and see people for real. Who knows, some of you might actually get laid.
