TechTalk: ‘Old Time Radio’ goodness with OTRCat.com
Want a fun way to spice up your daily commute? Thousands of “old time radio” dramas and comedies are now available online. It’s been a year since Jon Faulk from OTRCAT.com joined me to answer questions about how to enjoy these classics today, so here we revisit the topic once again.

Hi Marc;
I have bought many cds from John, and both my wife and I enjoy them a lot,and we are in our 40′s,lol.We often listen to them as we go to sleep.Box 13 is one of the best for that,as there are no commercials, but there are other good ones also.Hearing these shows is like you in another world, another time.Because we are “addicted” to these shows,we are now on our 4th Mp3 player, lol.
Some good comedies, which are very clear are “Our Miss Brooks” & “Fibber McGee and Molly”but as you know, there are plenty more.
Life certainly was different in those days!
Anyways,I really enjoy your podcast Marc,as you put out some awesome shows with a lot of info!Keep up the good work!
James/Kitchener
Thanks James.
Yes, I agree with everything you’re writing — I’m also “addicted” to OTR and listen to it everyday!
My collection is growing by leaps and bounds and there’s nothing better than stmbling on a great series for the first time. I have a lot of Box 13 but haven’t given them much of a spin. I’ll do so for sure.
Thanks for dropping me a line.
Best,
Marc Saltzman
hi marc, how about getting British oldies like, The Man in Black, Dick Barton, The Goon Show(Peter Sellers and Spike Milligan etc)!!!!!
Sounds wonderful!!!!!! Ken David
Hi Ken,
Jon from OTRCat.com might have some of those series, but keep in mind he can only sell shows that are no longer protected by copyrights. BBC’s Man in Black and Fear on Four (hosted by Man in Black) I found elsewhere online since they’re modern-day radio plays.
Best,
Marc
