Do Twitter or Facebook get in the way of your love life?
Do you use Twitter, Facebook or other social networking websites while having sex, eating or using the toilet? This study may interest you.
Would You Interrupt Sex to Tweet? So read a recent eye-catching headline in PCWorld. The article refers to a recent study carried out by Retrevo, a shopping portal, which found (all these stats refer to people under the age of 25):
- 27% of people sometimes check Twitter and/or Facebook if they wake up during the night (and 19% check every time they wake up during the night!).
- 32% log into social networks as soon as they wake up with 18% checking in before they are even out of bed.
- 49% don’t mind being interrupted by an electronic message during a meal, 24% are happy to be interrupted while using the toilet and 11% have no objections to being interrupted during sex.
What about you? Are you a social media addict who uses Facebook and Twitter no matter where you may be or what you may be doing? This reminds me of a post I wrote last year on networking etiquette and of the post Simon wrote shortly thereafter on people feeling the need to tweet their dinner. Isn’t that taking it a little too far? I mean really, come on people.
