How to make a heart (and other symbols) on Facebook
Using the Alt key on your keyboard and the number pad, you can easily update your Facebook status with a little heart, music note, and other symbols.
If your kids are trying to figure out how to update their Facebook status with those little heart symbols you see people using, or you want to put music notes beside the lyrics of a song that’s been stuck in your head all day, here’s what you need to type on your keyboard to make it work:
Alt and 1 makes ☺
Alt and 2 makes ☻
Alt and 3 makes ♥
Alt and 4 makes ♦
Alt and 5 makes ♣
Alt and 6 makes ♠
Alt and 7 makes •
Alt and 8 makes ◘
Alt and 9 makes ○
Alt and 1 and 0 makes ◙
Alt and 1 and 1 makes ♂
Alt and 1 and 2 makes ♀
Alt and 1 and 3 makes ♪
Alt and 1 and 4 makes ♫
Alt and 1 and 5 makes ☼
Alt and 1 and 6 makes ►
Alt and 1 and 7 makes ◄
Alt and 1 and 8 makes ↕
Alt and 1 and 9 makes ‼
Alt and 2 and 0 makes ¶
Remember, you need to use your keyboard’s number pad (on the right of your keyboard) rather than the number keys which are above the letters. Also, if it isn’t working for you, try pressing the number lock button on your keyboard first.
I like this! I have a laptop which doesn’t have a numbers pad. Any way for me to make these symbols?
this is how i do it: check the keys of your laptop (on mine its J,K,L,U,I,O,7,8,9)and see if theres a little square in the corner with a number on it if there is i press the fn (which is in a square) and holding it down i press the corrosponding squared number (the fn is between the ctrl and the “windows” buttons on the bottom left)

you might have to hit the numlock key look in between your letters sometimes they have it written on the side of the key’s
this stuff dont work nd i tryed all the other stuff so yea a heart is greater than 3

I have used this and it works!
Hold Alt+Fn+(what ever key has the little 3. Mine is the “L” key)
So for me I press Alt+Fn+L

i have a laptop too and i don’t have keys on the right of my laptop so it dosn’t work for me i think i did some thing once to get a heart but i forgot what i did
u Can copy and paste the character you want to input… ☼ i just googled how to make a heart in facebook, saved the page in favs and then i just copy and paste the pic i want to use…. yeah my laptop is the same way 8-(

if you have a laptop without a number pad or those little numbers above some of the letter keys you can just use <3 and that will work.
