‘Visual Voicemail’ launches on BlackBerry in Canada
BlackBerry owners who subscribe to Bell Mobility might have noticed this week a new icon on their home screen, which looks like telephone beside a tape. Clicking it will download the new Visual Voicemail service. Here’s the dilly-o.
Available on select BlackBerry smartphones with Bell Mobility, Visual Voicemail lets you view, listen, delete or skip voicemails in any order you choose — instead of in a linear fashion. Now you can preview and prioritize messages based on importance.
A first in Canada, this voicemail management solution also lets you download voicemail messages locally — on internal memory or on removable microSD cards — to listen to offline on your BlackBerry, such as in areas without wireless coverage (such as on airplanes or subways). You can also respond to voicemail messages either by text message or a voice call.
For $8/month, Visual Voicemail is now available on the BlackBerry Bold 9700, BlackBerry Tour 9630, BlackBerry Curve 8330, BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphone, and will be broadened to other BlackBerrys in 2010, says Bell Mobility.
More information is available at the official Bell Mobility page devoted to the service.

Why does every new service cost 8 or 10 dollars a month. If you put every service on your cell bill you may as well sign over your paycheque to ma bell. It would be something if it would be included in your plan for a change. I feel this would be a good one for all to have, Free
I am looking forward to the end of my contract….Bell can watch as my money goes elsewhere and my back leaves them for the foreseeable future. I am tired of the misrepresentation from Bell, and the excess charges and lies from this, and I question this (SERVICE PROVIDER)…TIME FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO STOP THESE UNETHICAL PRACTICES!!!!!!!, ONCE AND FOR ALL.
goodbye Bell, hello new guy in the business of customer services, not,
(HOW CAN I TAKE YOUR MONEY, AND NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AND THE SERVICES WE PROMISED TO PROVIDE)
Bell is a gouger for sure but on the other hand whenever I have protested a charge, like text messages being charged to me by the sender. Bell has cleared those and other questionable items from my bill.
The Storm the latest and greatest from RIM I am not sure that I regret buying it more than perhaps going with someone else or just plain waiting for the winds of change to take effect as is finally happening. RIM and Bell are very slow to enhance the Storms’ capabilities.
In reality Bell is fun to bash, bien oui, eh!
