Migratr Simplifies Transferring Photos From Different Services

By No Comments

Migratr is a free application that allows you to transfer photos quickly & simply from one photo-sharing service to another.

Photo MetadataDo you have a plethora of photos taken from over the holidays and nowhere to store them? This tool will make it easier to handle.

There are a handful of different photo hosting/sharing sites/applications available. Each has their pros/cons and different features (BrightHub: quick comparison). While I doubt the larger services will fail or shut down any time soon, some of them have converted to a “freemium” business model or have limits on their services.

Or maybe you just don’t like having all your eggs in one basket.
(Backup, backup, backup!)

A new, free application, called “Migratr”, has been created to help you move your photos from one photo sharing site to another, complete with metadata.

Migratr currently supports transferring photos between the following sites: 23HQ, Faces.com, Flickr, Menalto Gallery, Google’s Picasa, Phanfare, Photobucket, SmugMug, Zenfolio and Zoomr.

Migratr has an easy, step-by-step program layout: login to the source site, select the albums/photos you want to transfer, import the photos, login to the destination site, and finally, export the photos.
