Watch these women go nuts over gadgets on Ellen

A holiday tradition, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has arranged for her guests to walk away with some cool tech toys, including a netbook, e-book reader, smartphone, and more. You’d think they won a home or car the way they reacted. Sheesh.

The deal on the TV shows is that you agree to react to the prompts that you are given. I too found the reactions ridiculous, but the producers of the show prompt for that reaction, the same as they prompt for similar reactions on the intros of this show and almost every talk show.

It is fake and it is manipulative but, like professional wrestling, the game is what the game is and the fakery is completely in keeping with the show’s content itself. Fake interviews for the most part feeding pre-cooked information hyping the latest movie or book tour.

A real question is given you already know this (you do already know this don’t you?) why would you act surprised?

Or are you just trying to pump people’s reactions artificially for the sake of your own show?

People do seem to like it after all.

I really don’t know why he is complaining if I had the chance to go on one of these shows and walk away with the kind of gifts they are giving away I would surly do want they wanted. But being in northern Canada it seems pretty far fetch on my part to even think of getting to the U.S. to do this kind of stuff so for those who do enjoy these perks of life, enjoy all that you recieve from these celebs and don’t complain.
