Introducing GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle.com

By Comments (2)

Searching for four things at once just got alot easier.

g42Finding the GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle.com domain name untaken, two guys named Alex and Erty decided to purchase the name and create some sorta site using it. The result – you get four Google.coms in one window. A technology called iFrames was used to make this all possible. That’s right folks, you can search for recipes, read blog entries, do research on Wikipedia and post stuff on your favourite forum in just one tab! Isn’t that innovative? I didn’t think so, but it’s still a pretty cool concept.

It seems like a really, really cheap (okay, free) way to avoid buying four monitors. You can open a specific URL in each individual frame as well, so you don’t have to search for the site you want to go to. In fact, this functionality can allow you to do something as insane as this:

Search for sixteen things at once! Okay, maybe this is stretching things a bit, but it’s one of the things that Goog4 is capable of. Shortcut buttons for Google.com and Wikipedia.org are present, as well as the ability to close frames if four is too much for you. Click the refresh button on your browser to start clean.

Of course, there are some problems with Goog4. Mainly, you can’t open websites like Gmail or Twitter because these sites switched off iFrames functionality to block hacking attempts. Fair enough. Also, unless you have a monitor with a super-high resolution, expect to see scrollbars everywhere. I really don’t recommend using Goog4 on a netbook.

That said, Goog4 is a nice site and may just come in handy one day. You can see the site itself here and the FAQ for it here.

This is insane – I love it! I go to google4 and get my 4 screens in 1, then go to google4 on each of the 4 screens so now I have 16 screens… then 64 screens… then 256 screens… how many times can I do this before my computer explodes, LOL!!

Way cool just tried it out, tabs are great but cannot do side-by-side searches! Luckily, I have a large HD screen unfortunately, they don’t allow enlarging of the search engine panes. One must delete two panes allowing the two remaining panes to expand.

For sure, I will use this when doing multiple searches, which I do on a daily basis.

    Thanks for the heads-up.
