How to broadcast your screen to someone else’s computer

Download LogMeIn Express and someone on another computer can see exactly what appears on your screen.

logmeinIf you’re ever in need of a simple solution for broadcasting content on your computer to someone else, LogMeIn Express may be worth considering. With the aid of a small Windows-only program, LogMeIn Express shows up to 100 people exactly what comes up on your screen. If a browser is open or an image is edited in Photoshop, viewers see the movements that appear on the host computer.

Are you a creative professional who wants to preview a set of graphics or videos to a client? Have you ever been on the phone explaining something and wished that could be there to walk that person through a process? LogMeIn Express features easy screen-sharing to meet those needs and several other scenarios. Here’s how to share your screen in a few easy steps.

  1. Visit the LogMeIn Express page
  2. Click the “Share” button to download the required application “LogMeInExpress.exe” (Windows only for now).
  3. Start a new session by opening “LogMeInExpress.exe” (If you plan to use often, deselect the security prompts)
  4. Wait a few moments for the program to load and your screen will be ready for sharing.
  5. In the middle of the LogMeIn Express bar, there will be a 12-digit key required for anyone who wants to watch the shared screen. Hover over the clipboard icon next to the number and press “Copy to clipboard”
  6. Send the copied code your contact. That person will then go to the LogMeIn Express page and enter the code to begin seeing a live image of what appears on your screen.
  7. You will also have the option of chatting with contacts once others log into the shared session. As someone who frequently has to explain things to people over the phone, LogMeIn will probably get quite a bit of usage from me.
