Google Chrome Finally on the Mac & Linux
Google’s Chrome browser is now available for Mac & Linux.
At long last, Mac & Linux users can finally join the Google Chrome party. Windows users have been able to test out Google’s beta (doesn’t it seem that most of Google’s products are in perpetual beta?) of Chrome since last September.
Google Chrome boasts a clean, simple interface and lightning fast loading of webpages and JavaScript. Boasting over 300 extensions that allow it to be customized like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome is quickly becoming an alternative to Internet Explorer. Popular extensions such as Xmark have already been ported to Chrome.
In speed tests, Google Chrome handily beat out Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera.
It boasts useful features such as the ability to “tear” tabs away from windows, combine tabs into existing windows and of course, integrated Google search. Instead of going to Google to perform a search, simple type your query into the address bar and press [Enter].

It sounds great….I am not sure what the hold up is. It should be mainstream soon, based on this review.

While Chrome is indeed a great browser, I’m still mainly using Firefox due to website compatibility issues (e.g. LogMeIn.com).
Also, a must-have extension for IT/web people is FireBug, which is not yet available on Chrome.
