Evernote now takes notes, organizes ideas on most mobile phone systems
Popular note-taking service Evernote released an Android app today, making it possible for all smartphone users to remember things more clearly.
When you get a new idea or are inspired by something, do you commit it to your memory banks, only to discover that it actually went into the “You’re Going to Forget Me” bank? Or perhaps you’re someone who brainstorms on a napkin, writes notes on your hand, or rips out a page of a magazine. It’s time to ditch these bad habits and use Evernote.
Already popular for the iPhone and other mobile phone operating systems, Evernote is now also available on Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy or HTC Magic. With this new app, people can finally get organized and focus on keeping track of their ideas or inspirations. Evernote provides the following features:
- Create text notes, snap photos, or record audio to help remember things
- Attach files to notes; for instance a photo or document stored on your phone can accompany the note to add extra context or information.
- Apply tags and titles to organize notes according to your personal filing structure
- Synchronize with an online Evernote.com account
- Convert images to text; snap a photo of a whiteboard and the words recognized in that image will be converted to text that can be edited or inserted into a document.
- Location-based notes that can add GPS coordinates to your notes. If you create notes in an office and want to see only those notes when you’re at your desk, the “Notes Near Location” feature will filter through your notes and display only the ones created within that area.
Evernote is available for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Palm Pre, and Windows Mobile phones. Between this mobile support, a PC/Mac desktop application, extensions for browsers, and even an option to work with Twitter, there’s really no excuse not to become better organized with Evernote.
