Awesome BlackBerry tip for giving out your PIN
Props to my buddy Richard Amar who taught me — yes, the tech guy who is supposed to know *everything* — a little ‘ol trick when sharing your BlackBerry PIN number.
So your buddies or colleagues want to chat with you via BlackBerry Messenger because when you use your smartphone’s PIN, a unique number/letter combination associated with your BlackBerry, you can do it without incurring any data costs with your carrier.
Previously, if someone wanted to know my PIN, I would go into the Options menu, then Status and finally copy my 8-digit PIN (e.g. 32482E09) to paste into an email or text message.
My buddy Rich, however, taught me a much easier way to give someone your PIN to chat via BlackBerry Messenger.
All you have to do is start an email to your friend and then type this phrase: mypin. After you press spacebar your PIN will automatically show up in this space.
How cool is that?
On a related note, here are some other BlackBerry tips and shortcuts I wrote about for Sync a few moons ago.
Know of any other hot BlackBerry tips you can share?

Neat tip but funny how PINs are actually down today.
yeah whats up with that ? why isnt messenegr working today ?? anyone know ???? and when will it be up and running again ?
What happened to memorization? But neat tip anyway.
If I could memorize something like that, I wouldn’t be so darned dependant on my Blackberry. :-)
Works in a text message too. Thx for the tip…
you can also type “mynumber” and it shows your cell number
also “myver” shows your device type and software version
