Video: How to recall an ‘accidental’ email
Ever send an email and wish that you hadn’t? This humorous video shows you how to recall the message-that-shouldn’t-have-been-sent, using Microsoft Outlook, but deleting it only works if the recipient hasn’t received it yet (so work fast!).

This is not true. It doesnt work. It never works….it goes through instantly.
IF you catch it immediately upon clicking send…..unplug your modem cable immediately or switch off wireless but even faster is to X out of Outlook (close outlook)…..and it won’t go through and then open outlook, go into your outbox, right click on the message that is still in there and delete it.
It usually won’t delete unless you close outlook because it will only say “outlook is transmitting your message, cannot delete”….but if you shut down outlook and reopen, go into outbox and delete it.

Hi Mike,
It should work if the recipient doesn’t have their email setup to download new messages every minute or so (as I do on MS Outlook), but will work if you can catch it in time. Depending on the software you use for email, you might also get a message that says the message was recalled.

So how does the web based email programs Bigstring work? It can recall emails without being on a exchange sever??

I’m sorry dude, message is a horrendous feature, better yet it sends another message saying you want to recall the message, drawing even more attention to the rogue email. It never ever works reliably. If your counting on it to save your job, start looking for a new one.
