Readers, what tech gifts are you hoping for?

Yes, we know it’s better to give than receive [cough], but let’s face facts here: the holidays are approaching and you probably have compiled a mental list of all the tech toys you’d like to receive.

iPod nano - bYou WERE more nice than naughty in 2009, right? Right?

Well, either way, we know you’re hoping to find a cool piece of tech in your stocking or under the tree this year.

The big question is: What are you hoping to get?

A new iPod? Laptop? Gaming console? GPS unit? Digital camera? HDTV? None of the above?

Assuming Santa is taking a break from his busy schedule to drop into Sync to read all the latest tech news and reviews, here’s your chance to tell us (er, and him) what you really want for Christmas or Hanukah.

Interestingly, in an informal CTV News Channel poll taken at a Toronto shopping mall, most people who responded with tech requests wanted a laptop, followed by a game system, iPod or iPhone, Blu-ray player and GPS.

So, what are you crossing your fingers for? Do tell! Or if you have questions about what to look for when buying these tech gifts for others, feel free to ask them in the comments section below.
