3 useful ways to schedule Tweets with FutureTweets
Look, Mom, no hands! FutureTweets can update Twitter even when you aren’t near a computer.
I have previously mentioned that I manage several Twitter accounts for personal and business purposes. It may be too early to tell, but I think that juggling act will be easier thanks to FutureTweets.
FutureTweets.com is designed to post tweets that reveal where people plan to be or what they are thinking, even when that person isn’t near a computer. What makes FutureTweets more interesting is that the scheduled tweets offer three useful ways to help your business.
Here are just three examples of how FutureTweets can help you.
Promote to all time zones
My morning usually starts with orange juice and writing. By the time my first article gets posted at 9 AM Eastern, plenty of people in other time zones haven’t even gotten out of bed yet. FutureTweets allows me to promote that article to more people by scheduling tweets to appear again at 10 AM and 12 PM so everyone from Halifax to Vancouver can see it. If your company is using Twitter to promote content on a website or event, FutureTweets can keep you plugged into users across time zones.
Run contests and sales promotions
People like discounts and free stuff. Wow, who would have thought that? Well, it’s true, and businesses benefit from leveraging that desire to promote their products/services. FutureTweets can be used to schedule Twitter-based promotions or announce discount codes that people can use when placing an order on your website. Rather than have a person stop what he or she is doing to go to Twitter and promote the business, the posts can all be scheduled at once.
Discuss common features, issues, and events
Do you routinely make a similar post on Twitter such as posing a question of the day? Choose your questions two-to-five days in advance and schedule them to post with FutureTweets. The scheduling tool can also be used to make daily reminders that an event is fast approaching and interested people can register or RSVP.
FutureTweets will not be able to automate every activity on your company’s Twitter account, but it will be a nifty way to perform common tasks. At 12:45 PM Eastern time, I’ll be using it to tweet a link to this article while I’m out at lunch.

FutureTweets is really good. I mean you can also post your tweets without FutureTweets’ name appearing in the “posted from …” line under your tweets.
I wish they had a BlackBerry client for scheduling tweets, and if nothing else, they should at least have a website specially targeted towards mobile e.g., m.twitter.com.
