Microsoft video leave a bad taste in your mouth?
Now that Microsoft has launched Windows 7, I thought I’d post a video from this summer surrounding the company’s Internet Explorer 8 video — if you can stomach it, that is. Viewer discretion is advised!
Just to give you a break from all the Windows 7 news, I thought I’d dig out this Microsoft video from the summer — yet I still can’t believe this was an official (and approved) video to tout the privacy features of its Internet Explorer 8 web browser.
If you haven’t seen this clip on YouTube, and you’re not the queasy type, click below to see this IE8 video. Warning: Do not play in front of young children.
Think this video is funny or foul? Personally, those Seinfeld ads made me more sick to my stomach than thisĀ ”nauseating” attempt at humour.

What site was he looking at? I can make out the ‘Hairy Vag1na —– —– .com’ but not those last too. looks like ‘horse meat’ or ‘tooth pick’, maybe ‘moose manure’? Can anyone read lips? Or is there an uncensored version of this?

Mark,
I tried to figure out what website he was referring to — and, er, was going to even try to visit it, lol — but couldn’t make it out!

Classic Microsoft video. They haven’t made ads that bad since the DOS days. Kind of brings a tear to my eye.

Just repugnant without a point. How such a corporation put out such trash.

Well, I must say this is actually a step up for the likes of Steve Ballmer. The good news is that they paid the actors and esp Dean Cain a lot of money to show us the truth about the mentality of Microsoft. The puke actually says it all doesn’t it??
Now where did I put my trusty linux CD???

Absolutely stupid!
What arse would think of doing such an add and what bigger arse would approve making making the add, and who is the microsoft arse whom would accept and allow the add to be aired?
Another case of educated idiots!

From the comments, I’m reminded that the average age of computer users is actually going up. Clearly, a lot of people have upgraded their computers and passed them off to the silver community, who have finally learned how to use the internet.
People like you guys, who are immediately throw on a new emotion because you see a Microsoft logo, are forgetting that this follows a pretty humourous trend in comedy.
Throwing up routines are everywhere, one such example is the projectile vomit in “I Love You, Man”.
I’m sure there were a number of people in the audience, such as you folks, that sat there like, “Omg, I’ve forgotten how to laugh — OH WAIT — there isn’t a Microsoft logo in sight! This situation CAN be laughed at!”
Get out and enjoy yourselves. If this was a MAC ad talking about how macs don’t get viruses, I’m sure you’d be wetting yourselves. I know I do, simply at the ridiculousness of the thought. Or a Linux ad talking about how they just might break 3% share at some point in the next century.
I’m betting the reason most people even clicked on the link is because of the article’s title, beckoning Microsoft-haters to come in and share their useless opinion on the entire company’s product line over an Internet Exporer ad.
Keep that silver era alive, you guys… Rocking chair heroes.
