How to find the gadget that’s right for you with Measy’s help
Instead of searching through thousands of product listings, take a quiz and see which is your “perfect gadget”
My father is in desperate need of a new digital camera. He stubbornly refuses to upgrade his several-years-old camera that barely matches the quality of pictures that I take with my phone. This Christmas, I’m taking the decision out of my father’s hands and getting him a new digital camera.
I’ll make my decision with a little help from Measy, a new website that helps users decide which gadget is best for them. The website is still in its beta stages, meaning this is an early test run and not all content is yet available. However, it’s still worth looking at it if you’re in the market for a new TV, camera, or netbook.
Measy allows users to find a device based on a quiz that asks for desires on cost, size, brand respectability, ease of use, quality, portability and other options geared toward the product type. There are three levels of importance and a slider to help gather more accurate results. Once the quiz is completed, Measy returns the products that best match your response and ranks them according to compatibility.
Considering my father’s lack of tech skills, I requested a compact, beginner-friendly device with great picture quality, compact size, and chose to receive results only from the five brands that I knew made quality products. I set my budget at $300 or less (Measy calculates in US dollars, so keep that in mind when searching the site).
After comparing results and reading the reviews Measy lists from trusted resources, I settled on a Canon device that meets my father’s need — all in a matter of 15 minutes. My father is also in the market for a new laptop, but he’s on his own with that one. Measy plans to add more categories each month, so I’ll just forward this link to him when that category gets posted.
