Haha, sooo funny!! You people seriously need to get your thumb outta your butts and laugh, who cares if porn was the reason for a relationship to go bad… thats so not what the joke was meant for!! Porn is a good form of stress release. My HUSBAND and I watch it all the time together, its great for some…bonding time!!

If you have been affected in a bad way by porn, don’t read jokes like this. If you don’t read it, it won’t upset you.
To everyone else; you should be trying to see where Rose is coming from.
Porn is no different than food, stress, sleep, fear, material wealth, confidence, drugs…or any thing else in the world; there’s a certain amount that’s okay, even healthy. But after a point you know there’s a problem. My boyfriend and I watch porn together; we find it’s a good way to get ideas so we can keep things exciting in the bedroom. But an addiction to porn works like any other addiction…
If you don’t eat, you’ll die; if you don’t have any stress, you’ll be bored; if you don’t sleep, you won’t function properly; if you don’t fear things, you’ll do something stupid; if you don’t have any material wealth, you can’t sustain your body; if you don’t have self confidence, you’ll regret everything you didn’t do in life; and, if you don’t take drugs, sometimes the pain can be unbearable…
On the other hand, if you eat too much you’ll get sick; if you’re too stressed out, you’ll become depressed; if you sleep all the time you’ll miss a lot; if you fear everything you’ll never do anything worth remembering; if you’re too rich, you’ll become selfish; if you’re cocky, you’ll push away the people you love; and, if you’re too drugged up, you won’t live a fulfilling life.
It’s the same with porn. Anyone who watches porn is sexually depraved. Yep, that makes a lot of us! But you have to make sure that you’re watching porn because you want to, not because you think you need to.

This is the perspective from one ‘poor naked girl’ who has been on internet porn, and in porn magazines.. There is some actual DEPTH that no one here has picked up on yet. The kid is right when he says ‘poor’ Mostly women who are naked online – are poor. or were when they first started. They were struggling single moms, without many options and chose to do what they did, so they could spend more time with their kids. I’ve met many married men, who are totally in love with their wives, totally satisfied sexually with their wives, but they like variety, and porn is a way to save their marriage, because they don’t actually get into a situation with a real live naked woman.

First off, I’d commend you for taking care of your family. It’s like the old situation of stealing an apple in order to live by eating it. While stealing is wrong, and nobody will dispute that, is it proper to just let ourself die? In my mind, sins are always forgiven by the Father. So steal the damn apple! lol. If I was starving, and I had the choice to (a)have homosexual photos taken of me, or (b)watch my two-year old daughter die from starvation, guess which one I’d pick without even thinking! (and i am a strong heterosexual with a 2yr. old daughter)
The problem is not survival – the problem is that too many people use porn to ‘replace’ human relationships. This is short-sighted, greedy, and really selfish. Again, sins are always forgiven upon repentance, but why make the big, obvious mistake in the first place?

Thanks for your message. I am still trying to understand your comment. Stealing is wrong, yes. But being in porn, (I was in Hustler, and other magazines, plus online stuff, did a lot of tradeshows etc..) is not stealing. It is getting paid for providing an actual service. It’s an honest living. It may be morally wrong, according to some, but not to me. Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden of Eden until they were caught sinning and felt ashamed so that’s when they started wearing clothes. Sure, modesty is good, and not causing another man to sin or lust is important. That is why, when I am not working, I am always very modestly dressed, usually in track clothes, and I don’t ever flirt with married men outside of my work, or with my friends husbands/boyfriends/male neighbours etc..
Regarding the men who look at porn – yes, they can become addicted. I’ve seen many men become, addicted to me… but that has more to do with that person’s personality, if they have an addictive personality. They may be borderline ADD or ADHD – where they become very addicted to certain things, go in cycles where they can’t let go of a certain hobby, some even are addicted to otherwise good things, like fishing, exercising etc. It is about balance and self-control, men who look at porn, may be quite content with their wives – like a man who has just finished eating an entire HUGE thanksgiving dinner, totally stuffed, completely full and happy…..then a couple hours later, he sees some chocolate cake on the counter, he is not hungry, but if he has a personality of lack of control, he will eat it anyway…even though he is stuffed already.
I would say these guys that can’t let go – it’s not about the women, it’s about stuff going on in their brain. Read the book Change Your Brain, Change Your Life… it makes a lot of sense for people who are addicted to anything, or people who unbalanced in anyway.
I, like Rose, lost a 20 year marriage over MSN flirting and a Second Life game. My husband was not deprived of anything at home. He chose to live in a fantasy world. Its an addiction and showed me I had married a loser. He needs help and one day perhaps he will get it. Me I carried on and now have a good man. I find the comic to be very ironic.

Geez, guys and gals, when did this become a religious pissfest? I’m a Christian, but I found this hilarious. Does that mean God’s going to hate/smite me? I hope not, because if He’s the kind of jerk who would do that, I think I would rather go to Hell. I mean, I feel bad for ya Rose, but if you’re husband was stupid enough to look at that stuff and be MARRIED with kids at the same time, then he didn’t deserve to be with you. At the same time, you gotta be at least a little forgiving to him. And, yes, I was a porn star in the past, but I also attended private christian school, and bible college, and did all kinds of christian mission trips…and I tell ya what, the people I have met in the porn industry are a lot more ‘christ-like’….they are tolerant, loving, accepting, open minded, forgiving, patient, kind…
People I have known my entire life involved in Christianity – were exactly like your email – drawing out black and white, telling me to burn my books when I wanted to study other world religions, very intolerant.. like is God not strong enough to handle my lukewarm acceptance or curiosities… I just don’t think God is as harsh and black and white as everyone makes him out to be, whatever, whomever God is. I believe the God/Religion is the one that brings you closer to being a loving, warm, kind person full of peace and contentment… not waging war. God is nature, god is in us, god is love, he’s the smile in children’s faces, he’s the wind, he’s the fire, he’s water, he’s energy, he’s the goodness in people.
He isn’t black and white, I think we would insult him to define him or to make up exactly who He is and what He wants for us. Why not just be, and let God speak to us, and know that whatever is right, whatever is noble, God will reveal to us in our own way, and whatever religion is right, is the one that makes us a kinder, sweeter person.
The other thing I want to add, is that we are all on our own journey…some of us may struggle with looking at porn, some of us may struggle with the addiction of money that we can make by being in it – heck I am now in the top 10 percentile for net worth of my age bracket, I am only 24 and have saved up about $200,000 just from being in porn! So yeah, I am addicted to the feeling of ‘safety’ that money brings to me and my 2 kids. I had gotten pregnant young, the dad did look at porn, cheated and ran out on me, and so I am not comfortable in a situation where I need to rely on 1 man to financially support me, and so being in porn gave me the start I needed. And yes, I feel bad for the wives of the men. But – hey, I was one of them too once…and I know myself, full well, that the reason he was looking at porn, was because I let my body get bad after having kids, I didn’t do all the things a woman should have done…and even if I did – he had an issue with it to begin with – he cheated on the girlfriend he had before me, so it was my own damn fault. So I don’t blame him. The only power I have in my life, is that which I can take responsibility for, so I don’t blame my kids dad – I realize know I could have controlled my own situation better, by selecting a better mate in the first place. And now that I know that, I am fully realizing that so many men, are ‘not good mates’ so that’s why I am so happy as a single now, I really love supporting myself, and there is no man that makes me cry, makes me feel bad about my body, or leaves me on the other side of the bed, not cuddling me when I just want to be held. I have a dog and 2 kids for that, and I am sooo happy now.
So -everyone should just be happy, even if you porn addict husband walks out on you, it’s probably for the better!! Let him go..

God is an uncondition loving Creator, who thought enough of humans to send His only Son into a world to be a sacrificial lamb for our sins, isn’t going to smite you because you think it’s okay dipping into a bit of porn…so I’ll probably meet you in heavenly places if HE doesn’t find you to passive [lukewarm] about where you took your stand in life.
You know nothing about my life, and from my earlier opinion you feel I spazzed out, as well as others who expressed their views in an attempt of planting seeds of hope with those who have suffered as victims to porn or other addictions that have ripped families apart – alcohol / drugs / gambling. This cartoon stirred up lot’s of opinions, and some filled with pain. Why did the innocent cartoon of a lad praying about clothes being provided for the women in daddy’s computer turn into a ‘pissfest’ [your terminology] on religion / porn….because that’s exactly what it was meant to do.
Parents teach their children to pray to a higher power…if they believe there is a God…and majority of religions haven’t barred Jesus from their houses of worship – yet – even if that is disheartening to the athiest who read this post.
Those who know me say I am impassionate about what I believe, and with years of sharing / ministering to & with prostitutes / other women / children who have been victims of incest / rape / mental & physical abuse from men I’ve come to realize who the real PRICKS are!! God called them whoremongers….but you would know that being a Christian and reading the Bible. Yes…you were right that Rose’s former was a stupid man for chosing porn over his family…but it is an illness which is an addiction. That’s where I suggested councelling from other sources, if they couldn’t find a Church home that would help them.
Did you know that most women who are offering their bodies up to the sex trade hate men. Yup!, the exotic dancer loves getting on stage and showing her wares, not just for the need of money either. They love seeing the men sitting there drulling over them, as they feel in total control / empowerment.
Many families need intense councelling after daddy / mom / older sibling has been jailed due to computer porn [child], and many children being subjected to adult porn in the home become aggressive little ones at school. My daughter’s head [at the age of 8 years] was smashed up against a building, while the [same age] boy tried to disrobe her…is this natural Mr. Passive? He said that he just wanted to see what she had underneath her clothing and if she looked like the women in his daddy’s magazine that he had a view of. Children are what they learn. I have no problem with what others do in their homes [that's between them and their god[s] whether it be sex / money, etc], but when that sickness overflows into the schools / my home, then I can become spazzy! – voice my opinion.
Do I see any of the above addictions coming to an end real soon…not with the economy the way it is and families desperately trying to put bread & butter on the table for their children. Also, with passive so called Christians, those searching for direction should pray not to be guided by such persons who give a watered down view of what salvation and being set free from the entrapment of sins and temptations that we are faced with in a chaotic world is all about.
So in conclusion…if the Ten Commandments say that one is not to have lust / desires for his neighbors wife, do you think that just because that girl in the computer doesn’t live next door that it’s okay to lust over her? Men lust through what they see with their eyes [scripture says it's better to pluck the eye out that causes him to sin then to burn in hell], where women are vulnerable to the wiles of temptation / sin through hearing [Eve listened to the serpent who beguiled her to eat of the forbidden fruit]. Still, seeing these things on the computer / TV, it leaves images in our heads that are difficult to delete, leaving a woman vulnerable to fall into the belief that it’s A-okay – which can lead to addiction or selling herself short and entering the sex trade. Supply on demand…and there are lot’s out there in cyberspace demanding. God does not favor one gendar over the other when it comes to sins of the flesh…so each of us are to seek out our own salvation with fear and trembling – and I’m doing just fine – are you PassiveUnitedProtestant?

Interesting thread. As a young married man myself with kids. Porn has been a challenge to let go of. The good thing is my wife and I believe that we need to work together to get through this, I hope that you all remember your vows to each other that they did not have an “Escape Clause” written into them. Marriages are for life stick it out, things will get better if you work together. I believe that the greatest damage porn causes is that people become ashamed and hide their problems instead of being open and confronting them together.

Porn is an option for sex. It’s not dirty, unhealthy or “Bad” for you. As with everything, moderation is the key.

Opening statement of the cartoon – Dear God – that’s how religion came in to the discussion. Then there’s another thing you missed here Rob…..called ‘freedom of speech’. Since you clearly don’t give a ‘s%!+’, the joke may be on you when your time comes to stand in front of our Creator. The scriptures do say that when standing before His throne and trying to defend our actions on earth that those who denied His Son’s sacrafice for us at Calvary, will be cast out for eternity, as He will turn to the Father and say ‘I knew him / her not’. If interested it’s in the Book of Matthew, chapter 25. Sorry you plan on missing the party that will be extend throughout eternity, but there’s still hope for you & all those who deny God exist, as He is only a breath away from hearing from any who are self made individuals. Actually, those individuals [non believers] have a better chance of entering heaven then those who profess to be Christian and continue living their lives without having a relationship developing with Him. Did you know that most humans are actually programmed for ‘serial monogamy’ ? meaning: over the course of one’s life, they are meant to have several committment relationships. Not necessarily one life long love.
Relationships with different people help us grow, gain new insights, it’s healthy to love and let go, it’s healthy to love again, it’s healthy to stay with the same partner and rekindle old love again, renew vows…
God, actually is proven. He is in our DNA, read ‘The God Gene’ He is within us….that is what all people, from all cultures believe in something. Even atheists believe in something – they belive there is no God, which is infact a religious belief…
Um, a religion is defined as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
Just to say, I have agreed with a lot of the things you have said in regards to human character and the porn industry, and applaud you for taking care of your children- but as an atheist, I don’t feel like I have a religious belief, as I do not devote myself to anything spiritual, or observe any sort of rituals.
Also, Atheists all follow a personal moral code of their own devising, not a set doctrine of moralistic beliefs.

I agree with you, atheism is not be an actual religion, with rituals or scripture. That’s why I didn’t say it was religion. (Actually, I don’t even like the word ‘religion’ I prefer ‘spirituality’…it has more meaning, less dogma attatched.)
Religion is mainly politics, and it makes people fight..
So let me clarify, I wrote that Atheists believe there is no god, which is a religious belief. Perhaps I should not have included the word religious, and just said, dedicated belief instead..
When I say religious, I mean like ‘religiously’ meaning that you do it faithfully, such as, one might water his lawn religiously.. doesn’t mean he worships his lawn, just means he is faithful to lawn, he waters in consistently. Just like Atheists are faithful to their belief in no god. Unlike an Agnostic who is not committed that there is a god or that there isn’t..but either way, if you have your mind made up or not, your belief is still going to govern your actions..
So, what I mean is if a person has a religious belief that there is no god/gods, they are fully committed to that belief (despite that they can not prove there is no god, therefore making it just as faith-based as other belief systems – or ‘religions’) and that belief, that single belief, as simple as it is (no god), even without any scripture or rituals, can dictate how a person decides to live his/her life, to look internally for moral code…like you say, you follow your own personal moral code based on the fact that you believe there is no god…so you are living your life in accordance with your belief, so you are faithful to it..many choices you make in life are based on the fact you believe there is no god.
For me, I think that being Agnostic is more so the real ‘lack of religion’ because it’s not defined…to say ‘no god’ is more of a religious, strong, firm belief, than say ‘maybe there is, maybe there isn’t..who knows?”
I’ve thought of atheism like a ‘bald hairstyle’, it’s sort of an oxymoron, since there is ‘no hair’….but the very fact that there is a choice to have or not have hair, and one clearly decided ‘no hair’ makes it a deliberate decision to have a ‘bald hairstyle’
(I am agnostic by the way, just don’t give up, i’m not saying there is a god out there that wants us to woship him/her…I’m just saying who knows…who are we to say yes or no, when really no one can totally prove a God/gods do or do not exist..
Putting the onus all on the man is not fair. As far as staying in an unfulfilling relationship…it takes 2 to make it and sometimes 2 to break it.
There are many women who have found their husbands hooked on porn, and have made an agreement that they would do anything with their partner that did not cross the line of what they could handle [morally / physically], if they turned to them for their needs rather then porn. Just the matter of betrayal being dealt with, and this goes for women who have cheated on their husbands also. Vows are taken seriously or they’re not.
Proving God exist is a tough one…as one has to have a desire to experience His presence to become a believer / receiver of His desire to draw us close. His Son was God in the flesh and part of the Holy Trinity…so He as a teacher of what we needed to know was His mission before going to the cross. I know He exist, and I could write a few books on what I’ve experienced in my life since asking Him to be my Lord, and seen happen in other people’s lives who trust Him.
Religions are man made, to create some order and refuge from a chaotic world that the evil one [Satan] has been god over until that day at Calvary. He gained power when Adam and Eve disobeyed…and not one of us could have done any better then them, as here we are conversing about the issue of porn on this blog – over a simple little cartoon. Thanks Marc, as you sure stirred up a lot of feelings with those who responded! Are they all right, all wrong – or just institutions that are messing up the world more. Depends on the harmony of spirit within the Church, as Billy Graham said ‘If you find a perfect Church, join it!…then it won’t be perfect anymore.’ I am a memember of a Church that strives to bring about world peace, by dialouging with all religions and that means studying their beliefs and not bashing them for what they believe. Sorry to hear that ‘pornstar girl’ was involved in a Church that insisted she burn the books that she had, from other religions.
Also, we can’t go blaming Adam & Eve as God knew they would fall victims. That’s where He already knew that His Son would be in the desert for 40 days and overcome temptation 3 times when Satan sought Him out in a weakened vulnerable state. Try going 4 days without food [sure it rained and His thrist was quenched], and then see what you would be willing to do for a morsel of food.
Last but not least…humans are mammals, but we were created with a higher intelligence then animals. Man was created in God’s image…and woman taken from the rib in his side. Check it out guys…your minus one rib in comparison to a woman. God gave us free agent to make choices. Animals go by instinct, so if men / women want to act like animals, then that’s a choice they make. Actually, I’ve seen animals show more morals when mating then some humans. Some are also committed to their partner through life, and if one dies / is killed, the other will grieve until they die / end their own life by starvation or walking in front of cars or other means. Witnessed it, as well as others telling me the same thing so sometimes it makes one wonder who should be called the animals.
You know, it’s sad when something comical becomes so tragically blighted by some atheist dink, or some religious freak. Can’t we all just agree that the joke is funny??? If there is a God (I believe there is, but I could be wrong) he’s shaking his head at these jackasses ‘preaching the word’ of their respective religious views.
As for cheating, I think it’s normal. Look at the animal kingdom. Seems to me that the only living things on the face of the earth that are monogamous are humans. This is a rather large anomaly.
