When all else fails here is what to do:

Go to the help section of facebook, and copy the e-mail address for reporting abuse on facebook.
Send an e-mail from the e-mail address that you use to login to facebook. Tell them how pissed you are that you can not reset your password, or deactivate your account. Normally it takes 14 days to delete your account (a sneaky way for the makers of facebook to get you to log back into your account within that time frame. Warning: if you login withing the 14 days the delete request will be cancelled)
In your e-mail state that you want your facebook account deleted TODAY, not 14 DAYS!! They have to listen to your request or you can sue their ass!! Worked for me!! That is the only way I could delete my account!! :)
Good luck, and congrats on getting rid of crackbook! If your friends don't pick up the phone or send you a regular e-mail you know that they arn't really your friends..they just want to look popular on facebook with 500 friends which is pathetic. ;) Happy Christmas!

I have the same problem as Sally. Duh, you can't even get to the screen unless you are logged in. The problem is that you have to enter your password a second time, but fb will not accept. I think a class action lawsuit is needed here.

I just deleted my account with no problem following the link given. It said it would be permanently deleted within 14 days but if I log into my account before then it will be reactivated. Makes sense to me they give you a chance to change your mind

Facebook couldn't be any worse then the Canadian governments in it's way of handling our personal and private information by leaving it laying around or losing it and ending up in the wrong hands. I am sure facebook doesn't have that much personal information as does the Canadian government.

Granted facebook should be obligated to strengthen up its privacy policy and protect its consumers better.

As they say industry are better at keeping your personal information privacy and safe the your own government!
