In my opinion, all free online OCR services give more or less the same quality as long as input images is at least 300 DPI. I would like to add the following service i2OCR to the list mentioned earlier. The service comes with several features and great user experience.

So far I've found OCRconvert.com the best online optical character recognition service, they have no limit on the number of files that you can convert also they conversion has so far been very accurate for me, may be its because I only convert files in English language. But that works well.

Excellent find Marc!!!
I normally use Adobe Professional 8.0 for all my conversion and OCR needs. This will help me out great for where I don't have access to my laptop or for others who cant afford the expensive software. :)

Also @ Denis: All valid points, but Marc did give the heads-up on not sending file containing potentially sensitive data, which is ALWAYS a good idea :D

Mark: Very useful site and it does work well. However your final comment regarding languages can lead to confusion. The language choice only permits a better character recognition. It will not convert, let's say, an English pdf file into a French one. Also, I would caution on the content of the file you upload for conversion. While no personal info is requested, what happens to the file you upload? Is it retained on their server? Is it stored somewhere or just discarded once the conversion process is done? I would not recommend using the site to convert confidential client files, for example. Otherwise, it's an excellent service. Keep up the good work. I enjoy reading you regularly.
