Is it just me or wouldn't this feature reduce their amount of profits from the loss of strategy guide sales? Unless like someone earlier posted that there be a subscription fee, which wouldn't surprise me in the least given all the half-assed overpriced accessories you have to buy just to get the full effect of the mediocre titles. Not that I really care since it's the least important part of what I have to say so yeah...

As for all the people complaining about this function making things too easy and taking the enjoyment away, you couldn't be more right. At best you should only receive a clue about what you have to do next, not show you exactly what, where and how. Anyone with half a brain can copy something they've just been shown, unless of course this function is geared towards people with a mental disability or that have special needs. You should also have to earn the clue, and perhaps the less obvious the clue the more heavily weighted it's requirement would be.

As the years go by I see this thing happening more and more, having more options for things we can provide ourselves by using the most important organ/muscle in our body (the brain for those unaware). It's the principal of the matter, not just a matter of opinion in this case, as the saying goes: "Give someone a fish and feed them for a day, but teach them to fish and they feed themselves for life". Something to that effect anyway. It's not the fact that you can just "beat" the game, it's the fact that you have overcome a challenge.

There's good and bad sides to this I think. As mentioned, people will become even more lazy than they are. But if this option opened up after trying the level, say 20 times, when a younger player may get frustrated, it may be good. That way, people actually have to try first, and will still have a chance to finish the game. Limiting how much/often the feature could be used would be a must, also.

I know something like that would have been wonderful back when I was little and wouldn't be able to move through a game because there was that one spot that I just couldn't get past.

Can I use this option in school? When tests get difficult, just let them automatically get done.

I think this is afabulous idea......as long as there is some reward for a player not initiating a demo play. Maybe a special ending only accessable if this "cheat" was not used. I totally agree that if you spend the money on a game, you should get to eventually see the ending, but hopefully it doesnt just make gamers lazy.

Wow, I think a lot of people are really missing the point on this one. What I see in these comments is a bunch of people who are complaining about making things too easy, losing the 'challenge' of the game, but in doing so they are demonstrating that their mind ONLY perceives the easy way out. I think what the developers are trying to do here is simply provide to the gamer what is already amply provided by other means, ie: strategy guides or the internet. They are just taking back some control over the play of their games. Come on, if you (or your child) are just going to ues the 'demo' option and 'skip' over parts without going back and trying to beat it on your own, then the problem lies within the gamer, not the game. All I see here is Nintendo incorporating the 'strategy guide' right into the game. I say "thanks, great idea!!"

that just takes away from the whole idea of playing video games. Getting pissed off and throwing your control at the wall because you cant beat one level is all apart of the video game experiance.

I don't see what the big fuss is. If you don't agree with this feature then just don't use it. When you play the game, it's for your own personal enjoyment, who cares what other people do with the same game, it doesn't affect you. Enjoy and play the game to your own liking. There is still a point to the game, you can still grind it out or look to a walkthrough. Nintendo isn't forcing you to use this feature.

what someone does with their own game in their own home is their own business.
