Curious about switching to Windows Mail, which is built into Windows Vista, but don’t want to lose your existing email messages? No problem. Here I’ll show you how to import saved emails from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Microsoft Exchange (and even Windows Mail messages on another PC).

Windows Mail Curious about switching to Windows Mail, which is built into Windows Vista, but don't want to lose your existing email messages? No problem. Here I'll show you how to import saved emails from Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Microsoft Exchange (and even Windows Mail messages on another PC).

Many computer users are beginning to use Windows Mail, the email program built into Windows Vista (replacing Outlook Express, found in Windows XP), but perhaps you have a few dozen (or few hundred) messages you want to keep from other programs?

Here's how to import messages from Outlook, Outlook Express and other programs (or even emails from Windows Mail on another PC):

Step 1: Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, then All Programs and finally, Windows Mail.

Step 2: Click the File menu at the top and select Import, and then Messages.

Step 3: Follow the clear prompts to import your email messages.

Keep in mind, however, if you've installed Windows Vista over an older version of Windows, Windows Mail will automatically import messages in Outlook Express.
