‘Galaga’ reborn on iPod touch, iPhone
Now that Apple’s App Store (part of iTunes) has reached 1 billion downloads, many of which were games, it proves that iPhone and iPod touch owners are clamouring for great gaming experiences while on the go. The latest is a remake of an arcade classic from the ’80s.

Namco's iconic space shoot-’em-up from the early ’80s has been reborn on the iPhone and iPod touch, available in its original form and an enhanced version with better graphics, six boss battles and nine power-ups.
In Galaga Remix ($5.99), you must blast away wave after wave of incoming alien attacks, while avoiding their weapons (and spinning bodies) capable of destroying your spacecraft. Your goal is to study their flight pattern, clear each stage and decide when it’s best to be captured and then recover your ship for double firepower.
Along with the original 255 2-D levels, back again are bonus challenging stages to test your firing speed and accuracy.
The "remixed" version of Galaga includes background artwork that changes depending on your stage, various difficulty settings and the ability to replay any completed stage.
You can select from one of three ways to control these games: tilting the device, using the on-screen arrow keys or the optional slider feature.
