Social media is the focus at Mesh 09

Mesh – a word that implies a coming together of various ingredients or ideas, couldn’t be more appropriate for today’s web environment. The Mesh web conference which kicked off today in downtown Toronto covers the many ways in which social media is allowing all of us to mesh more – and more often than ever before.

Social media Mesh – a word that implies a coming together of various ingredients or ideas, couldn't be more appropriate for today's web environment. The Mesh web conference which kicked off today in downtown Toronto covers the many ways in which social media is allowing all of us to mesh more – and more often than ever before.

Considering that 49 per cent of consumers and 62 per cent of PR practitioners use social media at least once a day, according to the CNW Group/Leger Marketing “Social Media Reality Check,” the discussions and workshops taking place at mesh are increasingly relevant.

Marc Saltzman and I will be covering the conference both live – for keynotes and select breakout sessions and in blog posts today and for the rest of the week.

Some of the topics to be covered include:

  • Social-media friendly musicians
  • Hyper-local media: what is it and how does it work
  • Making video content more professional for less money
  • Using the web for good
  • The future of News

Check back with sync for all the updates as they come in.
