IPod Shuffle - a Time to ditch your iPod as it's so, well, 2008. Apple today introduced an all-new iPod shuffle ($99), billed as the world's smallest music player at nearly half of the size of its predecessor.

Not only is the just-announced iPod shuffle about 50 percent smaller than the previous model — significantly smaller than an AA battery — but this portable MP3 player is also the first that talks to you, says Apple.

The VoiceOver feature enables the third-gen iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names aloud in your earbuds. This can be handy as there is no LCD screen to see this information. The iPod shuffle can speak to you in 14 languages: English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

Available in silver or black and featuring a new aluminum design (with stainless steel clip), the 4GB iPod shuffle can hold up to 1, 000 songs, which can be selected using the controls located on the earphone cord. Yes, that means you must use the white earbuds that ship with the player if you want to play, pause, adjust volume and switch playlists.

Battery life is said to last up to 10 hours between charges.
