How much would you pay to shoot Nazis on your smartphone? Texas-based developer id Software has just launched Wolfenstein 3D Classic for the iPhone and iPod Touch, for $4.99.
Considered the “grandfather of first-person shooters,” this 1992 hit on the personal computer translates very well in portable form, including faithful graphics and animation, sound effects and a choice between all-new touch and tilt-based controls, developed by technical wizard, John Carmack.
As uber agent B.J. Blazkowicz, players must escape from Castle Wolfenstein and defeat the Nazi regime. The iPhone/iPod touch game includes all six original episodes with 60 classic levels, weapons and secret passages.
Up next from id Software for the iPhone and iPod touch? Doom and Quake.
