Live Search adds airline flight status

You’re about to run to the airport to pick up a friend or family member when you look outside and see a brutal snowstorm. To ensure the flight is landing on time you call the airline to double-check but get lost in an automated voice-mail hell. Microsoft says there is a better way to check flight status.

Flight Status - Air Canada You're about to run to the airport to pick up a friend or family member when you look outside and see a brutal snowstorm. To ensure the flight is landing on time you call the airline to double-check but get lost in an automated voice-mail hell. Microsoft says there is a better way to check flight status.

Live Search has just added a cool new feature that allows you check the flight status on various airlines (such as Air Canada, West Jet and Porter, as well as U.S.-based companies including American and United) and you'll immediately receive real-time flight info and whether the flight is on-time, early or late.

For exmaple, I typed in "Air Canada 508" and the response way as follows:

Air Canada 508: En route, arriving early Jan 26, 2009

From: Chicago, ORD at 03:38 PM (scheduled 03:35 PM) • Terminal 2
To: Toronto, YYZ at 05:54 PM (scheduled 06:07 PM) • Terminal 1

Cool.

This service works with both domestic and international flights.

Visit Live Search to give it a spin.
