Clickfree offers a gaggle of back-up solutions at CES
You’ve probably heard of the amazing Clickfree DVDs and external hard drives that back-up important files on your computer without requiring the user to do anything (hence the name). At the 2009 CES show, the Toronto-based company proved it had a few additional tricks up its sleeve.
You’ve probably heard of the amazing Clickfree DVDs and external hard drives that back-up important files on your computer without requiring the user to do anything (hence the name). At the 2009 CES show, the Toronto-based company proved it had a few additional tricks up its sleeve.
A handful of new Clickfree products were unveiled by Storage Appliance Corp. at CES:
* The Clickfree Transformer USB Cable ($59) can convert any external hard drive into a Clickfree backup drive by simply plugging the cable, which acts as a middleman, between the PC and drive. Once connected, the Clickfree backup application, built into the USB cable, will automatically start to find, organize and back-up your data. Up to 400 file types are supported.
* One of the biggest issues with past Clickfree hard drive products was that there wasn’t enough space. The Clickfree 1 Terabyte Backup Drive ($249) solves that problem. A 1TB drive can store roughly 220,000 songs, 440,000 photos and more than 2 million documents.
* Clickfree products are now also compatible with Apple computers. Minimum requirements include MacOS X 10.5 Leopard, Intel processor and 100 MB of free space.
