Don't waste good money on such a poor product. I, and many others, have been struggling with the XMP3 for 54 weeks now and I finally give up. It just wasn't designed to last, my original and all replacements are toast and I am a professional electronics technician. I haven't been using it as a dog toy, but I think that may be the best use, after all.

have you compared the inno reception to the Pioneer XMp3? I haven't read any reveiws that mention any detailed information about the outdoor portable reception. I have the inno, if I run outside I have to hold the inno up and point in or around the southwest direction. I finally lock in a channel then crappy song comes on or you have to run in that position, this is no good. Riding my bike is even worse. But my vehicle picks up 95% of the time, with the auto antenna. why they call it portable I don't know, it is only good for the saved recorded music when outdoors

Hello Simon,

Thanks for the insightful review of the xmp3, I was going to upgrade from the PIONEER INNO Gen1 to the XMP3 but wont as i liked the Audio quality of the INNO. thats all that matters to me besides recieving a strong satellite signal. recording is a nice feature especially to listen to it when you cant get live XM signals. I am not interested in photo viewers etc. Pure Music only, and XM / Sirius delivers. If they improve the audio quality on the XMP3 i may get one, but i will not sacrifice sound quality esoecially when its connected to a high end hi-fi system in the car or at home. thanks for point out the drawback on the audio quality.

thanks
