Dullards (dù-lurd) amongst the roses they don’t need a dictionary because they cannot read well anyway, the dumbasses (A stupid person; used to express a low opinion of someone's intelligence) cannot write well either so more so than most they do need a dictionary.

I downloaded the FREE WordWeb dictionary. Nicely informative and quick, and allows you to choose your English origin by country. That is a nice touch, since most use American spelling. The WordWeb dictionary has more obscure words such as jejune, noesis, pusillanimous and pedant gave the meaning and the associated synonyms. I just added all my Oxford dictionaries to WordWeb very nice, easy integration with Oxford.

I prefer (purist) my Oxford Dictionary software and the subscription access to the Oxford website with more than 600,000 entries. Oxford is the definitive authority of the English language.

It's really great offline tool for everyone. By the way, I also use thesaurus dictionary, because it free and online.

FREE! This isn't free. One has to agree to privacy policies of several other companies. These are lengthly and complicated and as you go further down , there were names of sites that looked like sexual content. I was looking for something as simple as screensavers. I was disappointed with the one shown as free but that wasn't even free unless I clicked on another screen where there was a site about "girl ense" I think. I don't have time for the Bull___. I go without the screensaver!

This is a great program! Super fast download and super fast results pop-up, and free if you promise not to make more than three airplane trips a year (I like developers with a sense of humour). The only thing missing is the etymology of the words. Thanks!

It's an awesome tool. I have been using for the past 2 years, simply love it.

There's also a FREE download edition other than a paid edition.

Hi Connie,

WordWeb is indeed free. Maybe you clicked on the "Pro" version?

You people have a VERY MISLEADING site!!!!!
You say it's FREE, however it appears NOT to be that way!!!
At the very end, it says you have to "subscribe", and that's definetly NOT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please explain to me, how Free turned into "Subscription"!

Sincerly,
