Zunezodiac_2 The folks at Microsoft have kindly offered up one of their Zune portable media players to one of our lucky readers – just in time for the holidays.

And you thought the only benefit to being a Sync reader was getting into flame wars with your fellow tech enthusiasts.

This time, it’s Microsoft bringing us some holiday cheer in the form of a black, 4GB, Zodiac-themed Zune player. If you’re curious about this player form Microsoft, check out our full review of the Zune.

We’ve only got one of these to give away, and the contest is only open until December 9th – we need the time to make sure our winner receives their prize in time for Santa’s annual visit.

To enter, simply leave a comment below, using an email address you can be reached at. Only one comment per email address please, and remember – don’t put your e-mail in your comment itself – wouldn’t want you getting spammed.

We’ll be picking the commenter who, in our opinion, makes the best argument (for or against) reading your horoscope on a daily basis.

The winner will be able to choose which of the 12 signs of the zodiac they would like to have laser-engraved on the back of their Zune.

Get creative, have fun, and don’t forget to read the rules.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Our winner will be picked tomorrow!

Update: Congrats to Troy Brown for his creative comment… it scored him a Zune. We just hope his wife is okay after the surprise commandeering of the surgeon’s scalpel.

I'm for horoscopes, but only if you don't take them, or yourself, too seriously. They are a fun way to get a random compliment (ever noticed they always highlight your most wonderful, generous attributes??) and maybe a little good advice. I don't believe that this one paragraph, intended for millions of people accurately represents me, but sometimes they are a good reminder to be polite to those you work with, and to not forget about having fun!!

Horoscopes have been in existence for all recorded history.
    Pharoahs,high priests,ancient and modern dictators,emporers,
movie stars, military heros?,plus mostof the rest of us, have
consulted them for reasons exotic, erotic, financial, and particularly to glimpse our personal futures.
In a world of 12+billion people, there would be hundreds of thousands who would share each of our exact birthdays (ignoring milli and micro seconds).638,584,241 conflicting futures all coming into being within 24 hours! Sounds like Maritime Canada weather.
Synchronicity, coincidence and the outporings of Randi aside, try this simple test of your horoscope.Do not read today's horoscope in your local paper,on the internet,in uncounted magazines or those who can afford a personal trainer/astrologer. READ YESTYERDAY'S HOROSCOPE.
tHAT WAY YOU COULD SAVE A FORTUNE,ESPECIALLY ON THE STO
    CK MARKET
Live your life day by day as YOU determine it. The stars and comets and planets exist,as our solar system exists.
Not in our stars but in ourselves.

I like to start my day with humour, the horoscope fits the bill.

  • Spazz says:

I do indeed read my horoscope. In fact, today reads: "You will win a Zune". Good thing I read it.

  • Brent Lampkin says:

I do not read horoscopes, they are completely useless! Some random person entering whatever it is they think could possibly happen to you that day…….waste of time in my opinion.

  • Heaventhere says:

I read at least 5 Horoscope's a day, from my love life to my career. Now I dont always beleive every thing they say but there have been times they have been bang on and have given me the best start to my day and really why not, its not like it will hurt me and if its bad well I can close my email and move on the next one and hope for funny, safe news in it. For me Horoschopes are a way to look inside ourselves by thnking about that it says, by wondering if its real, or by just bring a bright smile to our face when we read something that hits home if even just a little bit. Some times they make me smile and sometimes they just make me wonder who is on the other end of this email writing this stuff lol…

  • Clayton says:

I read them but they never come true but i hope to win lol

  • Mish says:

I would love to win that zodiac zune!

  • Caitlin says:

A horoscope is merely a prediction, and it's hard to say whether it's a good thing or a bad thing to read it every day. I usually check mine every once in awhile and it is usually spot on about things. But horoscopes are general, and interpretations of each horoscope are numerous, so they can usually be applied to a lot of people.

But sometimes I notice that it's so specific on some days, and it very much reflects exactly what your day has been like. Spooky? A little! And on those days you just can't see how it can be twisted to apply to just anybody.

It doesn't hurt to check it out every day, and I think that that spooky and strange feeling you get when you look back at your day's horoscope and make a connection with it, seeing it's words play out during your day, is completely worth what so many people consider a "waste of time".

At the end of the day, the readers have to remember that it's just a person on the other end of the internet, sitting at a keyboard and inputting your "future" with a few keystrokes.

  • michael says:

I want it, and must have it :) .

  • mark says:

reading the daily horoscopes is attune to having someone who believes he/she is more observant than you tell you general information anyone could come up with. You can read into these observations almost anything you want because of their vague and nondescript nature. Why not just get up in the morning and think you are going to have a good start and good finish to your day. Whether you believe you are going to have a bad day or a good day, either way you are probably right.

  • Donald Lawrence says:

    I hope I win

  • randall s macleod says:

looks great,i tink i want one, no…need one!

  • Lynda Breig says:

I like to read my horoscope the day after just to see how accurate it was. Also when I am super bored I read the monthly horoscope. Good for a laugh sometimes.

  • Mark Nielsen says:

The human race has always wanted to control the future or at least predict what will happen, that's why Astrology is so popular. Astrology claims that events on Earth are related to the motions of the planets across the sky. This is a scientifically testable hypothesis – or would be if astrologist's stuck their necks out and made definite predictions that could be tested.
However wisely enough they make their forecasts so vague that they can apply to any outcome. Statements such as, "personal relations may become intense" or "you will have a financially rewarding opportunity" can never be proved wrong.
But the real reason most scientists don't believe in Astrology is not scientific evidence or the lack of it, but because it is not consistent with other theories that have been tested by experiment.
