Size matters with new MovieStick spy camera

The MovieStick can’t be found in the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, but it wouldn’t be out of place if it was.

Swann_moviestickThe MovieStick can’t be found in the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, but it wouldn’t be out of place if it was.

About the size of a pack of gum and weighing less than an ounce, Swann’s miniature spy camera ($119.99) can shoot digital video and stills. Images are stored on a removable microSD memory cards for easy transfer to a PC for uploading, editing or archiving. A 2GB microSD card, for example, can record up to 2.5 hours of video on the MovieStick (high-capacity cards aren’t supported).

While we haven’t yet tested the device, The MovieStick’s video quality is said to be comparable to a cell phone as it uses the 3GP video format and delivers an image resolution at 176 x 144 pixels (for both video and stills).

The built-in lithium battery can be recharged via a USB port located on the bottom of the MovieStick.
