Hi Marc,

I know this posting is old, especially in internet time, but I was wondering if you have done any reviews on SSD's? I am in the market for one and am having trouble finding the right one.

Thanks,

Christopher.

In the last couple of months, there have been large milestones in the SSD market, improving overall storage limit and driving down price/gig. To help clarify the current argument surrounding SSDs, SanDisk has created a website called the SSD Academy that offers consumers and professionals a lot of information on the SSD market as well as general flash usage. www.sandisk.com/ssd.

Also, an educational video on SSD vs. HDD that will address some of your questions can be found at http://driveyourlaptop.com/video/ssd-vs-hdd.

well they didnt mention wat sorta work was being done during the battery test.

if its just regular word and excel stuff (perferably not Office 2007 apps, they for some reason take forever) but nething before office 2007 shouldnt suck as much power.

It's called a performance test for a reason... not a price comparison

Hi Wmcgritt,

Two valid shortcomings, which we've written about before on Sympatico MSN: http://tinyurl.com/5phk3d

I guess Samsung didn't want to address storage limits and price per gig!

Marc
