Since 2006, Twitter has been asking you what you’re up to. It’s a quick, easy and clean way of keeping those who matter to you up-to-date with your life at a particular moment.
Twitter Mobile for cell phones is even more convenient, and it’s also a free app (data costs might apply, however).
With it you can:
* Update your status with quick exchanges between friends, family and co-workers – all based on one question: What are you doing? Are you checking out an awesome concert? At a clothing sale? Stuck in a waiting room? Twitter away.
* Answer the question about what you’re doing over a short text message, or “tweet,” and the responses are shared between your contacts immediately. Millions of mobile Twitterers are telling the world what’s going on right now (cool huh?).
* View your profile (which includes a twittering timeline in chronological order), check out your friends’ profiles or search for updates from people you follow. View stats such as how many followers you have. Go nuts.

how is twitter any different from facebook?

I got into twitter through a family member and didnt use it much the first couple months.. as I started to use it more and more I saw just how much I enjoyed it. Its a fun way for people to keep up with you on your day to day events, thoughts and just random new stories about your life in a brief and fun way
