Millions of travelling gadget lovers tote around wall chargers, adaptors and converters to ensure their favourite electronics – such as mobile phones, digtal cameras and MP3 players — are powered up and ready for action. But what if you run out of juice and there’s no AC socket in sight?
The $69 Powerstick by Ecosol, an Ottawa-based company, looks to be an easier and smaller alternative to finding a wall socket.
This tiny USB-based device charges up using a computer’s power and includes nine different adaptors to power many popular portable devices. The company claims this doohickey can double talk time or audio playback for phones and MP3 players, respectively. We received one today but haven’t given it a good test yet. But it sure is cool-looking.
About the size of a small pack of gum (and weighing just 40 grams), this device takes up to 90 minutes to power up its internal Lithium polymer battery (to 90 percent) while a small LCD "Fuel Gauge" on the screen displays its charging progress; connected devices can be used while the Powerstick is charging.
I’ll update this blog to let you know how well the Powerstick fared.

hi
does Ecosol provide pictures of the connectors that come with the device? I looked at the pamplet and nothing. I would assume that it would only be right to show us what we are getting.
