Popular U.S.-based Newegg.com has just launched a Canadian site, www.newegg.ca, promising to offer a fresh new way for online Canadians to compare and shop for gadgets.
In case you haven’t heard of Newegg.com, it’s the world’s second-largest online-only retailer with more than 8 million registered users and industry-leading customer service ratings.
Many tech-savvy shoppers turn to Newegg.com for computer products and consumer electronics because of its daily deals, comparison shopping option (to find you the best price), large photos and descriptions, and reviews by both experts and customers.
Plus, Newegg ships more than 99 percent of orders within 24 hours of payment validation and all products sold are backed by 365-day customer service.
As with its U.S. brethren, Newegg.ca offer thousands of products from top name companies. Deals include a $200 Magellan GPS with 3.5-inch touchscreen display, Kingston 8GB SDHC card for $20 and Wi-Fi-ready colour printer from Lexmark for $40.
"The research often shows that Canadians are looking for and expecting more than what is currently offered by many online retailers in this country," says Andrea Hadley of eMetrics Canada, an industry forum for web analytics and marketing optimization, in a press release. "Retailers such as Newegg can hope to capitalize on that gap by raising the bar for Canadian consumers and in the process earning their loyalty as customers."

Ya know what? I'm happy for Newegg. It's always refeshing to hear that a company is doing well and expanding. But here is where it gets a little confusing for me, what does this do for the US econonmy? I see the stock market bottoming out and the credit markets frozen. These are bad times for America and I might be wrong, but doesn't NE have some corporate responsibility to create more jobs here than abroad?
