Get it while it's free: 'Space Monkey' for iPhone

Glu Mobile has announced its silly n' satirical mobile phone game, Space Monkey, is now free for a limited time…if you’re an iPhone or iPod touch owner.

If Disney's Wall-E is a glimpse into our future, we'll soon be dumping our garbage in deep space. When we're ready to clean up our act, why not send up a monkey to do our dirty work?

This is the silly premise behind Space Monkey, a cute cartoon game where you'll control a brave chimp by using your fingertip and built-in accelerometer to spin the fella around and grab floating space junk with his hands or feet, while also dealing with celestial obstacles and enemies.

Be forewarned: if you spin him too fast you'll make him too dizzy to do his job and he won't be able to deflect hazardous materials and complete his goals.

Apple iPhone or iPod touch owners can download the game today for free from the iTunes App Store.

Tips:

* Various surprise junk will come into play as the game progresses, so grab them to learn how to use them.

* Avoid small hazards by letting them pass by the monkey; don't align his feed or hands with the small hazards to let them fly right by.
