Megapixel madness with 8.1-megapixel phone
Many people have ditched their point-and-shoot digital camera for a camera phone — but those who pick up the upcoming Sony Ericsson C905 won’t have to trade quality for convenience.
Many people have ditched their point-and-shoot digital camera for a camera phone — but those who pick up the upcoming Sony Ericsson C905 won’t have to trade quality for convenience.
As reported on Sync a couple of months back, North America’s first 8.1-megapixel camera phone will pack many of the features you’d expect from a standalone digital camera, including Xenon flash, auto-focus, image stabilizer and face detection.
Plus, after you take a photo or shoot a video you can immediately upload it to your favorite blog or social networking site using GSM/GPRS, EDGE or 3G (HSDPA) cellphone networks.
The C905 is also no slouch in other departments. It houses built-in GPS, FM radio, stereo Bluetooth, and more. Oh, and did we mention it makes phone calls, too?
Last week, Sony Ericsson confirmed it will be available in Canada by Q1 2009, though not price or carrier has been confirmed. But as with most GSM-based Sony Ericsson phones, Rogers Wireless will likely be the main carrier (Bell and Telus opeate on the competing CDMA-based network).
