Sync’s ‘Dollar Daze’: Hands-free headset for $1

Those who still hold a phone up to their ear while driving no longer have an excuse if they claim it costs too much to switch to a hands-free solution. For $1 you can pick up a wired headset at your local dollar store. Yep, for just one buck.

HRS-Global is selling its all-black Cellular Hands-Free Earbud (model # HF-768) that works with most cell phones or cordless phones that sport a 2.5mm-based headset jack (which is most of them).

Place the padded speaker in your left or right ear, and about a quarter of the way down the black cord leading to your phone is an integrated microphone and button to press to accept or end the call. Also on the cable is an adjustable black clip to secure the cord to your shirt, jacket or seatbelt.

We tested it with a Motorola Razr cell phone and Panasonic KX-TG2421 cordless phone and the quality was decent. And hey, at this price, even snooty Bluetooth users might want to keep one of these corded headsets in their glove compartment as a back-up.

The $1 HRS-Global Cellular Hands-Free Earbud can be found at multiple dollar store chains, such as Dollarama, Everything For a Dollar, Buck Or Two and Your Dollar Store With More.
