Sync’s ‘Dollar Daze’: Get in shape with $1 pedometer
We all need a little motivation to exercise regularly, and one way is to set clear goals for yourself, such as walking five times a week for, say, 20 minutes. Another way is to count the number of steps and increase them gradually. A pedometer is a clever gadget that automatically counts your steps for you — and now you can buy one for just $1 at your local dollar store.

A new feature here at Sync looks at some tech toys you can find at your local dollar store, including FM radios with headphones, cell phone headsets for hands-fee calling, LED booklights and computer microphones (yes, all for a cool buck apiece, plus tax).
In this blog post we’ll look at a Dollarama-branded pedometer for just $1 (found at select Dollarama locations).
Available in multiple colours, this tiny and lightweight clamp-on gadget has a built-in sensor to register your steps and a small LCD screen that displays the number of steps taken. After you make note of the number of steps you’ve taken while walking, such as 5000, press the Reset button to start again and try to increase this number gradually.
A typical watch battery is required, but included.
Hey, have you bought any tech bargains at a dollar store?

Pedometers are awesome! It took me way less time to lose weight by being motivated with my pedometer rather than just walking without knowing your progress.
