Sony_walkman_nwzs730Sony today unveiled new Walkman-branded portable media players. The most interesting of the bunch is the NWZ-S730F, which includes integrated active noise-canceling technology.

Sony’s just-launched NWZ-S730F — ok,  so the name needs a bit of work –  ships with 13.5mm EX noise-cancelling earbuds that Sony says are capable of blocking out up to 75 percent of ambient noise. An accessory lets airplane travellers listen to in-flight entertainment without hearing engine roar or a screaming baby over in seat 14A.

At just 7.5mm thin, this S-series device is the slimmest Walkman to date, yet it doesn’t skimp on features. It has a two-inch QVGA LCD screen that displays video at up to 30 frames per second, an FM tuner, and up to 40 hours of digital music between charges (or 10 hours for video).

Audio playback includes support for MP3, WMA, and AAC music files, and a clever "SensMe" feature, previously found on select Sony Ericsson phones, that suggests other music to listen to based on your "mood" at the time. In other words, don’t expect it to suggest Metallica if you’re grooving to Kenny G.

The all-black NWZ-S730F costs $149.99, while the 8GB sells for $179.99.

    uhhh,..
As flashy as a new product can be,…sony,..is definitely not the best. This should be way cheaper first of all,..but having the word "sony" attached to it,.suggests superiority.
The best,..I don't think so. Lets not forget the sony viao.
God what a mishap that line is.

Well I you think about it, The earbud type noise cancelling Headphone (which I own and very happy with it) already retails for $129.99 by itself. So this one is a really good deal. Sound quality is much more superior on the Sony player compared to the Ipod Nano. I don't believe anyone makes in ear type Noice canceling headphones (Correct me if i am wrong).@ Lance: And speaking of VAIOs, which line are you talking about? I have 2 awsome machines right now and have no problems with it, My current one is an FZ-480 2.1 Ghz dual core, 4 GB ram, 320 GB HD 256MB Nvidia GC, BLU-Ray BD burner with HDMI output running on 64 bit Vista ultimate. Paid $1600 for it The beginning of this year. The older one is an SZ 450 series with carbon fibre casing. Where is the mishap in that?
