How to pick a Kensington laptop lock
OK, now this is scary. And some might give me flack for showing this video. But this is meant to caution laptop users rather than encourage would-be thieves, as we stumbled upon this video that shows how to open one of those popular laptop locks from Kensington — in a matter of seconds, no less. I wouldn’t want to be at a cybercafe with THIS guy nearby.

You don't get any flack from my posting! That's information you should know about. I won't waste my money on buying a Kensington lock because now I know the lock can be opened without the key!

Just buy a lock that uses a non-cyclindrical key, or one of those combination ones.
Ultimately the lock is ment to serve as a deterrent from people just walking by and picking it up on their way to the door while your back is turned. Having a lock is not a waste of money considering the price of a Laptop, just don't leave it out of your sight.
David has the right idea. I use a Kensington combination lock. I got it so I wouldn't have to carry a key, and now I realize it's also more secure.

Combination locks are just as easy to pick too.. my bike was stolen from a bike rack outside a shopping complex in matter of minutes while I was inside getting some milk and bread! I was one of the lucky ones who got my bike back due to silly criminal forgetting that there were security cameras installed and the police found him later that day redhanded, riding my bike still!
Why do you have an image of the new lock, yet you post a 5 year old video of the old lock. You can't pick the new locks using this method. Perhaps some research before posting would have saved you from printing false information.
It’s worrying that people know how to do this, doesn’t feel safe to use my laptop in public now.
