According to M:Metrics, mobile browsing increased 89 percent year over year in the United States, and pageviews have increased 127 percent.
The report found Americans browse the web more than 4.6 hours per month, based on data collected by carriers in March of 2008.
Which site was the "stickiest" on mobile phones? Local classifieds sensation Craigslist.com garnered the top spot with an average of one hour and thirty-nine minutes — the longest duration of any site among the top 20 domains visited.
In the UK, where smartphone users browse the web for about 2.5 hours a month, Facebook.com was the hottest destination with one hour and forty-five minutes to the site.
In the US, Facebook.com ranked fourth in time spent browsing, after eBay.com and MySpace.com, respectively, with Disney’s Go.com coming in at number five.
