Sync’s Dollar Daze: Buy a mini tripod for $1
OK, here’s the scoop. Once in a while Sympatico MSN lets me go wild in a handful of “dollar stores” and publish a list of my favourite gadgets for a cool $1. So I figured, why not make this a regular Sync feature? Welcome to the first “Dollar Daze” post.

Take a look underneath your digital camera (point-and-shoot or single lens reflex model) or your camcorder and chances are you’ll see a little circle there. This is so you can screw it onto a three-legged tripod for a steadier shot or when using a timer for group shots (and you want to get in on the action, too).
Mini-tripods can also come in handy, and we found one at a few "Dollarama" locations for just a buck. Despite its cheap price, this $1 mini tripod has three telescopic legs that extend to 5.9 inches (15 cm) – and the legs are adjustable for uneven surfaces — plus it’s made out of metal instead of plastic. It also has a pivoting head with a small level to adjust the angle to your liking.
Look for it at your local Dollarama. Model # is H4P 0A1.
Have you found a tech gem at your local dollar store? Do tell!

The Dollar Store is the best, especially Dollarama. Most things are made in China, but they often have "Canadian Made" products as well.
Talking about digital…. you really need to check out their Ikon photo paper..(click my name to read a review). it's awesome stuff… card stock thickness, good saturation of ink and better than most other brand named paper that costs more. Both glossy and matt versions are available in three different sizes: 4×6, 5×7, 8×10
For a buck, you really cannot go wrong woth this excellent paper.
Cheers
