Share your favourite ‘mix tapes’ online

The ’80s are gone but not forgotten. In fact, you can still share your beloved “mix tapes” — once the quintessential personalized musical gift to a new girl/boyfriend — with anyone in cyberspace thanks to Muxtape.com (yes, with a “u”).

CassetteThe ’80s are gone but not forgotten. In fact, you can still share your beloved "mix tapes" — once the quintessential personalized musical gift to a new girl/boyfriend — with anyone in cyberspace thanks to Muxtape.com (yes, with a "u").

But instead of cassette tapes (that you sometimes had to rewind with a pencil…remember that?), Muxtape.com lets you upload your custom MP3 playlist, with songs that matter to you, and in the order you choose.

Or feel free to listen to whatever everyone else has posted as their ultimate music mix. We grooved to Heyong’s 44-minute Asian pop mix, as well as StrayCatStrut’s eclectic fusion of big band, funk and rock tracks.

While it’s free to post and play someone else’s mix tapes, you have the option to buy individual songs, too.

Also check out the Muxtape.com blog, which includes tips on getting more out of this gnarly site.
