Bedol_water_clockThere's no need for batteries or an AC outlet with the upcoming desktop clock from Bedol – the self-proclaimed "invention company" – as it runs solely on water power.

Available on August 15, the Bedol Water-Powered Clock combines a stylishly modern circular design with eco-friendly technology, as a dash of salt in the water is all that's required to power the digital time-keeping device. How does it work? A converter extracts electrons from the water molecules to provide an electrical current, which acts as a fuel cell to generate power.

Inventor Mark Bedol, founder of Bedol International Group, Inc., has more than 30 design patents and 15 utility patents under his belt. The company also distributes other innovative products ranging from wireless computer speakers to retro radios to funky-looking Internet phones.

Available in blue or green, the Bedol Water-Powered Clock is the first in the company’s "Green" line of products. You can pick it up for $16 starting on August 15 at the company store, located at 456 W. First St. in Claremont, California, or online.
