this is a really good laptop.

  • Leysa Alcantara says:

The test was lame! Very little water actually made contact with the Panasonic Toughbook W7. Try dropping it into a bathtub or swimming pool next time for a REAL test.

  • Marc Saltzman Marc Saltzman says:

    Leysa,

    It's not waterproof…it's water-resistant…!

  • ajay gallacher says:

hmmmm…..I think I'll stick to my IMAC no more pc bull****

  • Leysa,

Nobody is going to be stupid enough to put it in a swimming pool or bathtub! If they are, really then… they shouldn't own a laptop, hahahah, your comment really made me laugh!

    thisis

  • Well it sounds like a great thing however I can pour water on my PCU too and it will spill back out. The thing is does the computer work afterwards.
You should have logged onto the net to show us it still functions fine. Just my opinion .. I woudldnt rush out and pay $2600 for a laptop just because the water runs off.

  • Joseph says:

but I do agree that there is too little water.

the test should be done with a cup full of water or any other type of liquid. since it's for business use; he should had also tried coffee.

swimming pool or bathtub is too much.

  • Quagmire says:

They should have tried a thicker fluid like lotion to see if it ruins the PC…I know Ive messed up a few doing that

    *Giggity, giggity goo!

  • Steve says:

I agree with "Quagmire", they should have used a thicker fluid…my son recently vomited on his laptop, and now it's toast – obviously…Almost a grand lost in one "upchuck" :( (sigh)

  • Shaylam says:

The bottom of your glass of water as a demonstration? Am I supposed to be amazed by this?

  • Marc Saltzman Marc Saltzman says:

    Shaylam,

If you want to be amazed, pour that same amount of water on your exiting laptop and see what happens! Just kidding…I didnt want to drown the laptop…it's not waterproof…it's water-resistant…and that small amount of water is probably more than you'd accidentally spill on it…just trying to show what it can do…

  • Bob says:

This was such a fonny test you never even showed if it worked after.

  • Johnny says:

Thats actually a very good test, I'm unsure as to why people are beating on him about it? He obviously took the time to try this out and possibly ruin a 2600 laptop on the statement that it is "water resistant".. lets see some of you make a video of you pouring a full glass of water on your 900 "water resistant" digital camera.

  • Brandon says:

that thing OWNS! I want one!

  • Christoff says:

Not really that much of a test. Most new laptops have a seperation between the keyboard, and the rest of the computer. You can put a PC keyboard through the dishwasher if you want. You just have to make sure that you dry it before you use it. The reason that water ruins a keyboard is when the keys are depressed they send an electrical "pulse", and the electricity comes into contact with the water, hence ruined keyboard. The keys and the touchpad weren't used after the water in this demonstration, not a very scientific test……….

  • Jeff says:

I think it was a fair test as well, it is definitely an impressive laptop. Although, like a couple people have mentioned already, I would really have liked to seen it in use after you poured the water unto it. Even a little move of the mouse would have been nice.
