Add your voice to your GPS device

A few weeks back we wrote about spicing up your summer road trip by downloading celebrity voices to your GPS, but did you know you can record your own voice, too?

Why would you want this? Who wouldn’t get a kick out of your kid or grandkids giving turn-by-turn instructions or perhaps you simply love the sound of your own voice (you know who you are).

On some GPS models, including the TomTom Go 720/730 or 920/930, users can press a button and follow the prompts to record 50 common numbers and directions; a combination of the two will then play back while navigating city streets, such as "Turn right in 1.1 kilometres" or "Your destination is on the left in 300 metres."
