Rush_hdToronto’s High Fidelity HDTV, the folks behind four popular HD channels — Rush HD, Oasis HD, Treasure HD and Equator HD — did well at a recent major television industry event, winning no less than eight awards at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.

Worldfest, which just wrapped up its 41st event, is considered the oldest independent Film & Video Festival, where all of its members are filmmakers themselves.

High Fidelity HDTV was awarded multiple honours for its programming. Specifically:

Special Jury Award: Hubble’s Canvas

Platinum Remi: Motivated!, My Oasis interstitials

Gold Remi: Festival Bound

Silver Remi: Oasis Earth, Pit Crews, Ultimate Dream Day

Bronze Remi: My Rush interstitials

"We’re extremely proud of the work we do at High Fidelity HDTV Media Inc. It’s a great feeling when so many of your programs are so well received by international reviewers," says Director of Production Craig Colby, in a company release. "For a relatively new production company, receiving a Special Jury Award, two Platinum Remis and a Gold Remi is an especially big deal."

John Panikkar, Partner and Co-Founder of High Fidelity HDTV Inc. says "Our four all-HD channels are committed to the best of High Definition storytelling, and these awards are evidence that we are delivering on that promise. And it is especially gratifying to be honoured for our in-house productions, because they represent our hands-on commitment to this country and its talent pool. We have and will continue to introduce that talent to our viewers across the country."

Go Canada!
